Find The Winner Of The Cheltenham Gold Cup 2016

Well another good day yesterday with our main bet Thistlecrack landing the World Hurdle and our each way bet on Bristol De Mai going close in the JLT in 2nd. The only negative was trying to take on Limini with Smart Talk who folded tamely. Still a small profit to add to our 13pts so far this week and plenty to look forward to on Gold Cup day.

On to today and the final day of the Festival 2016 and the highlight is the Cheltenham Gold Cup. I will do a full race preview below and reveal my bet for the race for you. Don’t forget to grab 10/1 on Cue Card to Place from BetBright for the race.

Cheltenham Gold Cup 2016

Cheltenham gold cup 2016A decent renewal of the feature race, despite Vautour vacating. Don Cossack (GER) looked like he had the beating of Cue Card in the King George before coming down and he is the highest rated jumper in training, he looked back near his best when winning at Thurles last time out and the only question mark is his record at Cheltenham which reads fell and 3rd. Cue Card had a breathing operation in the summer and has returned as good as ever with wins in the King George, Betfair Chase and Charlie Hall at Wetherby. He has rock solid Cheltenham form and this could well be his year to finally etch his name in history. Djakadam (FR) fell in the Cotswold Chase here at the end of January and has not been seen since, that is two falls in his career and his jumping will be put under intense scrutiny again in this race. Smad Place (FR) won the Hennessy Gold Cup and the Cotswold Chase here in January and yet he is available at double figure odds, he surely ranks as the value in the race.

I backed Smad Place in the Hennessy Gold Cup and Don Cossack in the King George on Boxing Day, but my pick for the Gold Cup this year has to be Cue Card.

Don’t forget to grab 10/1 on Cue Card To Place From BetBright – If you have not got an account ith them yet.

Have a great final day at the Festival and look forward to talking to you over the Grand National Festival at Aintree in a few weeks.
