Home at last – the epic trip complete !!

Morning all,

What a past few days – we finally decided on Sunday that enough was enough and there was clearly no end in site to the chaos that was gripping Europe so Jackie, my partner, and myself got to work. We managed to book oursleves and 3 others onto yesterdays, Tuesday, ferry from St Malo to Portsmouth. We then called around all the car hire companies and struggled to rent a Renault Clio – one way from Faro in Portugal to St Malo in France – cost an eye watering 1700 euros. Then the epic road trip through Portugal, Spain and France – 1260 miles (over 2000 kms) in 21 hours – we left Vilamoura at 7am on Monday and arrived at St Malo at 4am the following morning !! Approached with the usual passion and enthusiasm that I approach everything !! lol – 5 people and luggage in a 1.2 Renault Clio was something to behold flying across the continent, took me back to my student days !! Even had a deer jump out infront of the car at one point.

The total chaos at St Malo had to be seen to be believed – people literally fighting to get a place on the ferry – people arriving in coaches they had paid £5000 to hire to get them to the port from Barcelona, Paris – the stories we swopped were amazing.

Anyway we finally got to East Midland Airport to collect the BMW at midnight last night and then we were home for 1 am.

Just to let you all know I am grateful for the emails I have received while away and realise you are all itching to get back to our selections. The selection line will be back up tomorrow on 0906 739 5358 and all those of youwho are receiving their selections via email will start receiving them again tomorrow.

Thanks for all your support,
