Free Selections – Saturday 1st May 2010

Morning All,

The rain has not been as heavy as expected down here – so looks promising for the 2000 guineas selection later.

My bets today will be as follows:

1:35 Uttoxeter – The Grifter – dropping in grade and strong form line with Osric who won last night at Bangor – 2 pts e/w – 6/1 readily available.

3:05 Newmarket – Elusive Pimpernel – All the talk is about St Nicholas Abbey but Elusive Pimpernel is in with a strong shout today – when the pair met last year at Doncaster, our horse finished 4 lengths back – however the ground was good to soft that day and on good to firm today we will be alot closer and may have the beating of him. At the odds I’m going 2pts e/w and grab the 7/1 on offer.

3:50 Uttoxeter – Hilfiger – a promising horse brought over from Germany – 1st run at Huntingdon he took a strong hold at the start but then settled well – will have come on from the run and stands a great chance today – again I’m going 2pts e/w – 11/4 on offer from Bet365.

6:45 Doncaster – Scarlet Rocks – a really nice sort who has been the model of consistancy finishing 2nd in her first 4 outings – just running into one too good on each occasion – I’m going 2 pts e/w and grab the 5/1 on offer.

I am also going to be placing the following each way doubles:

1 pt – Each way double on Elusive Pimpernel in the 2000 guineas and Pollenator in the 1000 guineas tomorrow ( more about her tomorrow)
1 pt – Each Way double on Elusive Pimpernel in the 2000 guineas and The Derby in June.

Have a great day,

Rich
