Well a good run today from our selection at Hereford – Oscar Gogo but just did’nt finish the job so we finished March on +79 points profit for the month. Thanks for all the emails from you Selection Line users telling me how your banks are growing – I can promise that you will be making even more over the coming months.

So the figures for the first quarter of 2010 are as follows:

January = +138 points profit
February = +289 points profit
March = +79 points profit
Total = +506 points profit for the year so far !!!

Well I am heading for a well earned break on 8th April for a week to Portugal.

Well after the +46 point profit made in Cheltenham week, we have had a bit of a frustrating week this week with too many selections placing, even though they are advised as each way bets, resulting in a small +5.5 pt profit for the week.

As we always say – profit is profit and the key is to be constantly building your bank up month by month and slowly increasing your staking levels.

So the month of March is now up to +67 points profit for Selection Line callers.

The first quarter of 2010 looks like this:

January +138 points (even with the snow which basically brought racing to a standstill)
February +289 points (alot of these selections were put up free on the Racing Profits Website)
March +67 points (with 3 days to go)

Total profit is +494 points - with 3 days to go. The target I set myself is 500 points per quarter profit, this will guarantee me a £100000 tax free income per year.

I hope you are all calling the Selection Line and benefiting from our selections. After a couple of quiet days – it exploded into life today – with a nice +19.5 pts profit on the day.

Our back bet in the 2:10 at Folkestone was Your So Vain – I gave a full run down on his form and how he was expected to run today and it played out to the letter – dropped back in trip and storming home for a big 2 pts e/w at 6/1 !!!! – a big +15 pt profit.

We had 3 lay selections which really showed the importance of watching the market before commiting your money today.

3:50 Bangor – Western Whisky – had some big money come in on him through the day and he dropped from an early price of 7.8 down to 5.1 before drifting out to 5.6. Not enough to back him with the drift at the end but certainly a warning against laying him. Even though he did’nt win – it was an easy decision to make.

4:30 Wolverhampton – Motarjm – a straightforward Lay bet – drifted over the last 15 mins and did very little in the race. + 1.5pt profit

6:00 Wolverhampton – Well of Echoes – the odds tumbled from an early price of 6.0 down to 3.9 with 15 mins to go – I hope everyone used my 25% rule and backed it – as it continued to shorten and shorten all the way to a low of 2.84. I got on at 3.7 with a 1 pt back bet. Gave us a lovely +3pt profit.

Just wanted to address the subject of Non-Runners as I have a few emails from people asking how this effects my decision on wether to Lay or not and it is something I did not cover in my video.

I’ve just got back from the Leicester meeting today, what a day – out of 6 races – 4 were won by favourites and one by a Joint Favourite. I’ve not been to a days jumps racing like that for a while.

Two of our Lay selections were running and both won their respective races, however, no-one should have layed Ray Mond as he certainly shortened in price, even though he was a bit up and down – but also Ukrainian Star was a non-runner dropping the field to only 10 runners.

I never Lay any horse running in a field of less than 11 Runners. When I checked this morning before leaving, the field was still up at 11 runners. In future please use this rule. It is one of the difficulties having ro make my selections early in the day – I can’t allow for non-runners. But if you use your common sense and stick to this rule, as the previous weeks have shown, we won’t go far wrong.

However My Old Piano looked like a solid Lay,drifting out from 3.8 to over 5 and still won. I layed it. – 5pts for that one. Just one of those things – we will win alot more of those drifters than lose and after such a strong run of successful lays over the past few weeks it will always happen.

At least we finished with a successful Lay on Top Flight Splash to get a point back at the end of the day. So finished -8pts on the day.

Just remember that in this game you will always get days like today – in February the bulk of our profits came from only 3 days selections, that is how it is in Betting and why it is so important you judge your success Month by Month and don’t get dragged in to worrying about each result, day by day.
