11.02.10 – Results

Well today was just one of those days.

A great start to the day with 3 successful lays two of which did not even place.

1:50 Southwell – Granekey – drifted out before the off but ran a far better race thean I thought it would. Coming a narrow second.

2:10 Huntingdon – Cesium – ran a very poor race finishing a distant 9th

2:40 Huntingdon – Reblis – again faded to finish no nearer than 4th

Then we had our only Back bet of the day and hopefully you can see why I was so confident in Stars Du Grantis who ran a great race all the way to the line and was only just pipped to the post by the odds on favourite and McCoy.

Then on to Kempton tonight and a strange night it has been.

5:30 Kempton – Alqaahir – drifted like a barge before the off, so at least I know my assesment of his chances appeared spot on on the face of it, he then went in like an odds on shot, go figure. The All weather is a law unto itself at times.

6:30 Kempton – Musashi – business as usual again – drifted out and never figured in the race at all – coming 12th.

7:00 Kempton – Harting Hill – hopefully everyone headed my warning this morning and left this well alone after seeing the market – he was well backed in and his odds shortened making him a non-lay.

So all in all a small loss on the day, shame we lost the Taunton meeting as we had 2 strong selections which could have made things so differant, but as we are so far up this week anyway it is onwards and upwards tomorrow.
